Hello it is lil miss tl again,
What cheap appearance mods could i do? Tinting my windows may look nice, but what other things could i do for cheap, to distinguish my car from those every other 55 year old man who has a TL.
PS I am 17 year old lady,
Kelly

You can clear out your headlights but it's not for the faint of heart. You can take off your front license plates, if the dealer didn't drill holes into your bumper. It's illegal, but the TL looks sooooo much better without them. You can make yourself a custom grill. The instructions are in the FAQ section. You can remove the A.C.U.R.A. on the back of your trunk. Stickers is a matter of taste and _can_ be done with taste, although most people here are against it.

17 HUH?

Only Joking. Welcome.

Go to your Acura dealer and buy the tail lights from the 2002 TL. It's about $350 but a hell of a lot cheaper than body kits and rims.

Hey Lil' Miss TL,

I know it would be a hike for you, but we are having a meet on May 12th in Framingham Mass, you are welcome to join us.

As far as "cheap" mods go, I second the grille suggestion. It will only cost about $5 to do. You can't get much cheaper than that for such a dramatic change in appearance. For the interior, I would highly recommend the wood dash kit. I have had TONS of compliments on that.

Good luck, and welsome to the board!!

IMHO, nothing cheap should be part of your luxurious TL.

Appearance improvement can be attained by (in the order of less expensive)
1. window tints (like you suggested)
2. lowering springs (also perf adder)
3. Mugen grills (or custom)
4. inspire tails
5. body kit/ spoiler
6. rims

Did I miss any other appearance-related mods??

SLVR, cheap mods as in not alot of money, not not alot of quality. Just thought I'd make that a little more clear.

Try and ignore liutang, he doesn't get out much.

I'd go for the custom grill, it is pretty simple to do and very inexpensive.

Get a body kit if you don't have one - it really makes the TL and sets it apart from looking like such a family car. A sportier look. Gotta have one.

Okay Lil Miss TL, welcome to the site... Youll have to excuse some of these guys, they havent ever seen a 17 year old lady on the board before , there is all kind of cool $hit you can do to your car, but itz not cheap, if you ballin with a TL, you might as well love it (mod it) or leave it (keep it stock) ... Spend some chee$e, the TL is not a cheap ride and I dont abide by the rules inside ...

S.Holla ...

The custom grill is a must. Also debadging the trunk is a great way to improve the TL's rear end. Welcome to the boards. BTW I'm 17 too =).

You can debadge the rear... remove the 3.2TL and the ACURA lettering off the trunk. Here's a picture of my car at the TL meet yesterday. It's not close up, but you can sort of see what I mean. It really makes the car look different and best of all, it's a FREE mod and you won't look like every other 50 year old with a TL. (No offense to 50 year olds )

Did you purchase the car, or did your parents give it to you? Just curious, 17 year old driving a $30K car, must be nice!! My first car, back in 1993 was a 1989 Ford Mustang 5.0, with 60K miles on it!! Times have changed. . .

Thanks for all the help everyone. I don't own the TL but only using until i graduate from school in about a year. So things such as springs and things like that may be out of the question if i have to return the car to my mother and return it back to stock.

I like the idea of taking the badges off, but my mother spent to extra cash for the acura instead of the accord and may be miffed when i take off the 'pretty' acura logo.

You are quite the charmer how you turned my location of Bangor Maine into some kind of dirty joke. You must be quite the ladys man indeed

Welcome to the board! I agree with the others as well on suggested mods.. I plan on clearing the grille up front to only the Acura emblem, will do that spring.. Other visual mods I suggest would be a wing(Wings west), and comptech springs and sways.. You get a better looking car, lower center of gravity, better handling, and most of all, your car will stand out!

I agree with everyone else.. tint and clearing out your headlights is a good way to go if you want to set yourself apart from other TL's while saving money..

Then again.. a 17 yrs old lady driving a TL is already different on its own =D

Technically, I left the 'pretty' acura logo I only took off the letters and numbers. I see your point though.
