Question Anyone think the Level 10 torque converter is worth the $1000???

I'm seriously considering it and since I'm in NJ, it would be easy to get my car up to them to do it. They quoted me $598 for the converter and $500 for install. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal.

Anyone ever find out what the performance gain is from installing it? From what I read it helps tremendously with off the line starting. I guess it's really helping increase the hp to the wheels vs at the crank, where automatics are typically weak.

I figure it's just another piece to add before Comptech comes out with their supercharger.

Also I think the price on that is cheap! I bet you a torque converter will give you more performace gain then I/H/E combined guarunteed! Atleast that was true on my automatic 5.0 stang! Just the labor is expensive.

JYOO,

The set up & install 500.00 extra

I guess the install pricing might be a little cheaper because I'm having it done at Level Ten.

We had several members on the SHO board that did this mod. Geaux4it was the last person that I know of that did this mod. He had so much power to the wheels that he had a hard time hooking up during launch. Anyways, I believe Level Ten takes your existing torque converter and re-work on the internals such that it increases the stall speed so that you could launch at a higher rpm.
