Anyone surprised that the TL(S) does not have a trip computer?

Am I missing something, or should this car have a basic trip computer that can measure mileage, miles 'til empty and actual gas mileage? I figure that this would not really be a tough thing to put into the car. I have an '03 TLS and would certainly like to have this feature.

My mother's 89' New Yorker had one and it was little more than a stretched K-Car. Then again, it had a crappy transmission too.

The lack of decent interior electronics was just a brain dead move on Acura's part. If Audi, BMW, Lexus, and Infiniti are loaded with them, why doesn't the Acura have them?

what are you referring to when you say a trip computer? My car has Trip A and Trip B where you can measure distances...

One thing that Acura also missed is a compass in that car...for a car of that class... they should have mounted it on the rear view mirror.

Yeah Im kinda suprised the car does not have it, my brother was low on gas and I asked well how many miles can you got before your on empty and hes like how the hell should I know. Im like you dont have that feature that measures gas mileage. He looked at me like I was crazy!!

Maybe they subscribe to Darwin's theory on natural selection...I think Acura assumed that if you were gonna pay $30k for a car, you could do the math and figure it out yourself from 'Trip A or B'...

Honda has always been an engine/engineering company that makes car bodies as an afterthought. Not totally a bad thing usually but the car really should have had a trip computer.

Yes, it is a joke. If nothing else, put it with the navigation system. My 97 Jeep Cherokee 4x4 has one and my 03 TLS-Navi does not.

I'd also take a compass in the rearview mirror. I dont have Nav, but even if i did, some cars like the Infinity SUV has both.
I've learned to navigate the way they did during the time of Columbus -- the sun rises in the east and sets in the west. Of course this doesnt work too good when its overcast, and forget about it at night. I havent figured out the sexton yet, so i dont even try navigating with the north star.

well im glad honda has figured out the cup holder thing. if there is one thing i my dad and i noticed that over the years with all his hondas and acuras, he just felt the japanese didnt undertand us americas with the cup holders. hell our suburban has 4 in the front. but my tl is a big upgrade from my legend, i have 2 good cup holders as opposed to 1 ****ty one.

My '02 vette was overkill. It had a full trip computer, as well as full analog gauges, and full digital gauges that measure the same thing. I.e., you could read your engine temp on the analogue gauge, or the digital readout, was really cool. Also had engine oil temp in both analogue or digital... I'm not sure if the new vette's have both anymore...
