Where have you been? The A-SPec is a special trim model of the TL coming out only in Canada...

Why would you do that? The door pieces wouldn't match then.

So what did you replace? Just the center console pieces? The door pieces aren't the same in the CL as the TL

AH! Thanx for the insight on the A-Spec.... Actually, my TL is the canadian edition. I did some research this morning, so let me see if I got this right... the A-Spec is a type S with some exterior mods like the OEM Kit, colored leather, and is only available in Black or Blue???

Good luck. You realize all you'll have are the center console pieces. The DOOR PIECES DO NOT FIT ON A TL.

Alright...i am sick of my burlwood trim...I have a '01 TL and that was the only option available at the time.....the burlwood trim is classy...but i rather have the black marble or aluminum trim....is there any way to replace the center and door pieces??? Hold difficult is it to remove those pieces?

center console pieces pop out easy
no tools needed, just open up your console and pry with your hands

i believe the door trim pieces take more work
pretty sure you have to disassemble the doors somewhat

i want to do the doors panels and paint them silver
i'm thinking of repaining the door trim panels soon as all this crazy snow goes away

to those of you who did this, how long did the entire project take?

To remove the trim pieces on the door it took a few hours. You have to be really careful. They are held to the door panel with plastic rivets which must either be melted off or cut off. I cut mine off with a utility knife. It's a b!tch to get them off. Once you get the off, you should probably send them to a body shop for painting. They are clearcoated plastic and you need a bonding agent for the paint to bond to. Then you have to figure out how to put them back as you've cut off the head of the plastic rivet. I used small sheet metal screws to assemble them.
