anyone know CD player error codes?

every few times I get in my car (maybe 1 out of every 6 or so), my cd player will give me an error code "Er-El" and none of the discs will play, eject, change, anything. then i'm forced to listen to the radio.

the problem never corrects itself until i the next time i get into the car (sometimes it'll even last a couple trips)

i've tried unsuccessfully to look this up, but I feel like it must be a common issue because my roommate has an 03 CL-S (I have an 03 TL-S) and he gets the same thing sometimes.

anyone else experience this? what's it mean? how'd you fix it? thanks.

theres not much you can do to fix it, its just more of honda's junk. but you might be able to cure it by either, disconnecting the battery and letting it reset, or remove the deck and take out the big black wire(the wire for the antenna) for about 1 min or so and put it back in. if that doesn't work, take the deck out and throw it in a fire then replace it with a new double din unit.

btw: im not a 100% on the antenna thing, i just read that some where on this forum :P.

First you need the serial number for the radio. If you turn the power on in your car and hold 1 & 6 on the numbers below for a few seconds it will give you the 8 digit serial number. Then call a dealer to get the radio code. If that doesnt work you have to disconnect your antenna in which I think is located behind the radio.

i think they are looking for the "meaning off" ERROR (troubleshooting) CODES, not UNLOCK CODES for the radio.
