Anyone heard if new TL at autoshow?

I just read this article at edmunds http://www.edmunds.com/news/autoshow...2/article.html

It mentions new Acura Sedans (plural) to be introduced at Detroit. I was assuming new TL near end of year but perhaps its ready?

Some of you people are so gullible when it comes to this stuff. This is how people do business, they say that something is going to be at an autoshow, you go and buy tickets and when you get there it's not what you thought it'd be. Too late though, you already spent the money.

Just relax and have patience, oh and I heard that the 2008 TL is going to have 6WD with 500 HP

hmmm... Lets see, the 2004 TL is comming out next year. Chances are they will have to enter the design in an auto show early this year.. if you think about it. The TSX should be there and the new TL

PS. Honda usually releases new models in September, you will see the TL in September

Pretty sure the TSX will be on display.. but I doubt the TL will make an appearence.. if it does, probably only the A-Spec one..

The "sedans" could also mean there will be two flavors of the TSX introduced.. I wouldn't get too excited about this..

But some of you guys are forgetting about the long do redesign of the RL flagship model. This could also be its apperance to the market with an all new design. The RL has been a carry over for many years. It should go up with cars such as mid priced BENZ, BMW models. The car will also go head to head with Q45 & LS430 models. ACURA may even go the other way & go the sport route with this car & & make it a player with the LEXUS GS430. This is the BMW 540i & BENZ E-430 class sedan play ground & it might get better sales going in that direction. I might be intrested in this area for my next car if it goes that way.

Well since someone mentioned A-Spec from Canada, lets not forget about the EL, which is a 4-door.

Pay attention to the words in context.

If it's a new version (redesigned, all-new), they word it "redesigned".

They said "new sedans" from Acura. If they chose their words carefully, which I'm sure they did, this mean a new line-up/model = TSX. Most likely two versions of it.

I doubt the new TL will be there. But if it were, great!

I actually backed out of the 2003 TL-S I was negotiating on with the dealership. There were other reasons, such as the transmission issue, but mainly, I wanted to see how the '04 model looks. The first spy pictures in car magazines will probably do. If it's not that good looking, I'll probably pick up one of the last '03 TL-S' around.

What i want to know is why everyone is a lot of people are hating and think that Acura wont pull out 300 horses from the next TLS. I am not saying it will, but stop hating and dream a little. They might surprise us and they might not, but are you that dissapointed with current TL that you have low hopes for the new one.

Well I'm not hating, it's just that this topic has been discussed a number of times and we get the same results. I absolutely love my '02 TL-S. Yes, it would be nice to have a 300hp TL, but I doubt that I am going to get it or most of the people here just as soon as it comes out. All I'm saying is that we have to wait and don't believe everything you read. Oh and my 6WD TL was a sarcastic joke

Look, I'm planning on going to the Detroit show (only a 2 hour drive for me). I'll take pictures of whatever Acura intros there and post them here. Hope this helps!

big, I think the reason why people don't believe a 300 hp TL is because it would kill Acura's sales of their $90k 290 hp NSX. So, until the ante is raised on the NSX, I wouldn't expect or even dream for a 300 hp TL. IMO

This is awesome! I heard the new TL may have a dually in the rear-end.

Either way, 2, 4 or 6 wheel drive, it is safe to say we are all excited to see the new TL.

y would anybody in their right mind spend $90k on a car that could have it's butt handed to it by a $35k four door?

I agree they are two completely different cars, but if you can obtain more power, near performance, and more luxury for half the price, where would you spend your $$??

How does this sound... in a couple (or three) years a TL w/ 300+ HP. Think hybrid... electric & gas... each wheel equipped w/ an electric motor to go along w/ the gas engine...

300hps TL won't kill NSX.

LOL

looks at the weight of NSX
and TL

the new TL might weight even more with more features.

the point is...why would Honda/Acura have 2 cars so close in power, with the least powerful car being more than twice the price??

It's all about supply and demand and how you market your products. Don't get me wrong, it'd be a great booster to the TL's sales. BUT, I'd bet NSX sales would drop. Not as many people care about Titanium screws, superb craftmanship, superior handling, etc. as they do about getting from point a to be on a daily basis. IMO, fewer people would be as willing to drop 90k on the NSX. Manufacturers make cars to sell to masses, not just what us enthusiast wish for or want. (Unless of course they are a true exotic car company.)

To back up Baggs, auto makers usually don't like to have it's flagship sportscar to have less HP then one of their sedans.

It's all in the marketing......besides, all this high HP in a FWD is just plain dumb IMO.
