I'm guessing that for the price, the kit does not include door handle switches. These lights are either wired in with your parking lights or they're on their own circuit. I don't think these come on when you lift the door handle.

iv been looking into doing this mod for some time now. i just want them to turn on when i hit my unlock/lock on my fob. really dont need to buy this special kit tho, any leds will do

you can have any good alarm shop wire some leds to do this with the alarm arm and disarm. I have seen it done before but never under the door handle.

would be cool, but seriously where are you going to get the 12V power???? the nearest one will be on the other side of the door where you have to remove your panels and fish your way through to sucess......
