Anyone else?

Remove their engine covers? I was doing some adjustments on my Injen CAI to fit correctly and needed to take these off so nothing was in my way. I decided they were pointless, along with the battery cover and left them off.

I cleaned everything with a QD spray and it looks fine to me. Nothing looks like it was being protected from the covers so I guess it's harmless. Just wondering if anyone else felt the same way?

The covers were pretty hot as well, so maybe this will alow for SLIGHTLY better cooling. Ohh by the way the car is a whole new animal with the INJEN CAI. I love it.

Yea I was actually doing work the other day and had to take them off and just left them off. I think it looks better -- in a way. Sometimes it looks better with the covers on, just depends on what mood I'm in. Any help in cooling the engine is good for the 100+ temps every day down here in FL, so I think I might leave them off for now.

What is QD spray? I want to use something safe for the engine bay to clean the top of IM.

the covers are only for decoration. IMHO it looks better with them on and painted body color

QD= Quick detailer. It's been hot and humid here in NY as well. I kind of like the way it looks with them off too.

I have to agree. I was going through the "post your engines" thread and some of the painted engine covers looked really good. I might paint the IM flat black just to hide it. I like the "stealth" look.
