So, I go to back the TL out of the garage and hear this funny
ringing sound,so I pop the hood and see the lower alt bolt
bouncing around on the idler pulley..The pulley is basically
the only thing holding the bolt from actually falling out..
So I think,no problem,I will just tighten the bolt but to no avail...
I take the bolt out and the damn thing is sheared off in the block!!! I also notice the upper alt. bracket is cracked....
I am like WTF is going on here......

Anyone here have any problems with this????
Or am I the lucky one???

Definitely a rarity. The bracket itself was probably broken which put a lot of stress on the bolt, causing it to break.

 

We took it to a shop that only does Acura/Hondas and they told us they have never seen that one before...
Lucky us....
