Anyone agree that TL and TL-S comparisons should stop NOW!

Anyone agree that TL and TL-S comparisons should stop NOW!
I understand the nature of this forum is to compare and talk about cars and TLs in general. But could we stop with the ridiculous comparisons of cars in totally different classes? Realistically watching on TV, magazines and articles, TL/TL-S supposedly belong or is the underdog of a group of euro cars, low BMW 3 series, low Benz C class, A4 1.8. But more realistically it seems ppl compare TLs to infinity !35 or something like that, a maxima, and maybe the Lexuz ES 300. I mean why the hell is an A6 even being mentioned in the same line as a TL_S or even TL? or even why is an ALtima in the same breath as a TL-S or TL? why is a WRX even compared to TL or TLS? I mean these comparisons are totally outta line, none of these cars really belong in the same class as a TL-S/TL. A6 belongs with BMW 5 series and Benz E class, Altima belongs somewhere with Accords if that. WRX belongs in a class of its own, a class of aztecs, pt cruisers and thunderbirds for it's oougly looks.

Nope, I respectfully disagree. I think folks here should be able to compare their TLs to any cars they want! I'm considering the TL Type-S and the Lexus GS430 for my next car; to me they're worth comparing. And just like you pointed out, the car mags seem to put the TL up against the 325 or C230 (probably to keep the prices closer) when in performance and amenities the 330 and C320 are more comparable. Let's just let people compare whatever they want!

Due to Acura's innovation and cost control, they have been able to bring a car to market that CAN be compared to cars that are significantly more expensive.
The TL/TL-S are MOST likely to be compared to Infinity I30, Lexus ES300 and maybe the Maxima SE as all are about the same size and FWD.
However, most prospective buyers are also in a position to spend either a few more thousand or a few less thousand dollars so anything from an Altima to an A6 are reasonable comparisons.
It's a free world so if someone wants to compare the TL-S to an Aztec, they are free to do so but they may not get many responses.

For my next ride I'm considering leasing the TLS or the Boeing 747-400 passenger aircraft. Sure, the TLS has 260hp and 17" wheels, but the 747 has the optional Pratt & Whitney engine with over 60,000 lbf of thrust, hauls 500 passengers, has nice lambskin seating surfaces, four cupholders, and retractable wheels to boot. It would be hard to land the 747 in my subdivision, but I'm sure my neighbors won't mind the noise when the 500 of us decide to carpool to the game one of these days.
Gas mileage sucks on the 747 though, about 0.14 miles per gallon. But hey, look at those SUVs on the road. Don't blame me for the fuel crisis, dammit.
Anyway, going to test drive both vehicles soon. I hope I can make a deal on the lease payments!

Seriously though, the TL-S should be compared to any and all cars that people want to. Hell, I looked at the IS300, WRX, and CL-S before deciding on the TL-S. That's what I chose to look at, therefore, that's what I decided to compare the TL-S. Everyone else does the same thing.... posting this topic is worse then people who compare cars b/c at least those comparisons spark constructive conversations.....
