Anybody PAINT calipers yet?

I went to Hinshaws Acura website today to see if they sold our CL yet. NOPE. And they are asking 4g's more than they gave us for it. About a year ago I painted the calipers red to match the car. The dealership repainted them. They make the car look TITS!!

http://www.autobase.com/photos/large/01543368.jpg

Have any of you painted your calipers yet? If so what color? I was thinking about silver. My Type-S is blue. My girl says paint them white.

RED?? ORANGE!!

They are stock calipers. Don't pretend they're something they're not.

SSM or gloss black would look nice.

I bought my 02 TL-S used, and the calipers are silver & look great. Is that the stock color for a Type S?

Painting calipers has always irked me. But if you are gonna do it - go black or silver - NOT red. it's not a big brake kit - don't pretend it is.

Mine are blue also. Got sick of looking at oxidizing metal. Plus it keeps everything clean and will look get when I get my new rotors and pads (I got the shakes already).

mine are red. it goes well with the tail lights. my car is white and i think it looks really nice, since it sticks out between the spokes alot. painting it was really simple, just get it on a lift, take the wheel off and then just take a brush to it. if not you can cover the rotor part with a back and tape the rest, then just spray paint it.

Gloss black sounds like the way to go. I also have a super-flat silver I used for my exhaust manifold on the Civic. It's clean and kinda cool looking. I think that gloss black would look damn clean behind the Type-S wheels. Thanks for the help fella's. If you all have any pics.... I'd like to see them.

Are there any chicks on this site?

On FRP (firepepper red pearl) -- silver on your app. Matches your rims nicely. That's IMHO (aka guy with yellow calipers). LOL.

I would paint it blue since your car is blue, if not black. Red would match the tail lights like i did on my nbp.

AcuraTL2000...
Your TL is pretty fuckin' SICK!! That's one of the cleanest TL's I've seen yet. I don't really like the older TL front without the factory fogs. BUT... I'm liking it on your car. WOW. I can't say enough. I might add something in the grill up front. Looks like it's missing something.

But dude. A++. You have proven that hard work pays off. I'm jealous..

Please list the mods you've done. How long have you had it?

Thanks for you post.

Those are universal 5 lug nut pattern rims. You see this alot on Racing Hart rims and alot of other import rims that come with lug nut covers.

nice pics.... The only thing about painted calipers though is that they tend to look pretty crappy after a while with a few trips through the car wash, brake dust, etc etc.

Seems that powerdercoating them would be a much more lasting solution that will not flake off in time.

As far as which colour is best, I think it is a personal thing... Whatever does it for ya i guess!
