Any way to check CEL code without OBDII?
Any way to check CEL code without OBDII?
I know my old '92 accord had a way of checking the code by shorting 2 wires and the CEL would blink indicating the code, that way you didnt need an OBDII device.
Wondering if there is a way on the '99er? i know its a long shot but its worth a try....

im not sure you can jump the lead on obd2 ive looked for ways to do it on other cars and all the manuals say it cant be done on them. im not sure about the honda but id guess there isnt a ay with out having a code reader
Are you sure it's OBDII on a 92? My 94' Talon was OBDI and I used to get trouble codes out of the computer all the time from the diagnostic port with a sweep metered Volt Ohm Meter and a couple of alligator clip test leads.
I know, Mits is totaly different from Honda but I just wouldn't think that a 92' would have been OBDII.

I think OBD II came in with the 1996 model year, but my 1995 Talon Tsi AWD had a semi-complete OBD II implementation. Because of this, I bought an OBD II cable and software (http://www.obd-2.com) and was able to do some tuning with the information that was available on my 1995.
I'm looking forward to firing it up on the Acura, though...
