any street light racing today?

I just installed new tires, my old ones were bubbled and had no grip. the new ones are loads better, don't squeal and wheelspin is virtually 0 now. anyway raced my friends new es350 on this stretch of wide country rd which usually is deserted and where we always take for fishing at a nearby lake. the only reason I decided to race him was because when he drove my tl once & he complained it was slow! he also constantly tells me how fast his car is.

anyway at this redlight in middle of nowhere I launched my car at 2k rpm and I think he WOT torque launched. he gained a bit but at about I think 30 mph I caught up and completely passed him at ~50 but as soon as I hit 4th gear I saw him catching up seriously fast in my mirror lolz. but he chickend out and braked . dynolicous showed 6.71 0-60 and 15.3s 1/4 mile @ 94mph which is a real improvement over the 15.9s I got before on the crappy tires. my car is bone stock. the results were a bit surprising because I raced a camry v6 before and it totally embarrassed me. I guess the es is really heavier.

God I hate my ES350. It's faster than my TL, but it feels SOO slow!

the curb weight is just over 3600 vs 3200 on camry, proly why it feels sluggish and is slower. I don't think any 3g tl should have a problem beating one, specially type-s.

I dont recall all the secret mods to your ride,,but if the preventative maitenance is all done, seafoamed, new plugs, egr clean etc.(includes new oil)..it should be rocket fast compared to before~

now work on your technique for launch, and a dyno run-- or maybe your device can figure the actual max torque point in each gear
max torque and correct rpm to stay on the power as you shift are what wins races

Also please!!! ck out local drag strips- they offer low cost classes in your car-
the same as road race tracks do--which I also suggest for everyone regardless of age or experience
a pro race driver as your personal coach --life doesnt get much better~

a couple weeks ago i was coming back from a meet and a 2003 or so mustang (V8 model) pulled up next to me, so i started toying with him and he took off def. WOT he had a very hard time shifting lmao, anyways he was making me mad because every time id try and line up he would take off like a car length in front of me such a b*^#*. we were coming up to a bridge and he took off once again, so i punched it and surprisingly started catching up, i also had 3 friends with me so that's at least an extra 400 lbs! we stayed close then we both let off because of cops. i hope i see him again just me alone, ill put this mustang owner in his place! oh yeah btw, i drive a tl-p with intake and exhaust resonator delete, so nothing special at all. also he had an exhaust and who knows what else under the hood

ya i was just surprised i could keep up with my friends new es350 until i hit 4th gear. one thing i noticed, my car performs pathetically in warm weather. over a second slower in 0-60 runs. in winter time or cool nights i get about 6.9-7.1 seconds with just punching the gas pedal. in summer heat now i get about 7.4-7.8 seconds. tranny shifts rough from 1-2 too in hot weather. thinking of removing the hood insulation pad and getting a better air filter
