Any Plano or Dallas TL's?
Hey Guys,
I'm new to this forum but have been reading it for a while. All the info you guys have and post is great! Anyways, I was just wondering if there was anyone here on the board that resides in Plano or the surrounding areas? I saw a pretty sweet Nighthawk Black TL @ UTD where I'm taking some summer classes. How hard is it to put a spoiler and body kit on the car? Would also like to know where you guys get work on your car around here. I really only know of Intercrew and Jotech. Thanks again!

Longhorn TL,
I'm in Dallas. I have a 2001 Silver TL Stock. Sorry, I have not done any mods. However, I know putting on the spoiler is pretty easy. Another guy that installed his underbody spoiler kit did most of it himself and only needed his dad for the front piece.
Good Luck!

North Plano here with a stock 02 Silver Type S with/Nav. I had a 00 TL but like many on the board, had to take the hit and get the Type S. The dealer was willing to go 1100 off sticker for me but I ended up going through a leasing company (one of the main sponsors on Dallas's "Little Ticket") . The leasing company ended up getting it for 1500 off sticker if that helps you any.
I have dealt with David McDavid simply b/c they are the closest, but if you search some past posts about them, they can be a little shady at times especially with the prices they quote for Acura accessories (as compared to the quoted prices at Acura.com). However, I have had positive experiences with them concerning service and their body shop.
My advice if you are wanting to purchase one, shop around especially at the dealerships in Irving and Ft. Worth. If you are consider leasing, I think you will find a much better deal going through a leasing company instead of the dealership. The difference in quotes for me was about 60.00 a month.
Hope that helps,
Paul

I'm in Grapevine
I just bought my '02 TL in June from Mac Churchill in Ft. Worth. I shopped all 4 dealers in the Metroplex, and 3 of them came down to 1400 under sticker, but no more. The only one that wouldn't come down that far was David McDavid up in your neck of the woods. The Irving dealership really tried to screw me on the spoiler and roof visor installation costs, so I quit talking to them. The guys at Mac Churchill were a lot more laid back and easier to deal with although I probably only saved 100-200 bucks there. The S. Arlington and Irving stores gave me the typical sales runaround and the Plano store basically didn't want to give me a quote anywhere near what the others were offering. Back in April some of the people on this forum and on Edmunds were saying that you couldn't get a TL for less than sticker around here, but I think things are changing a little. You may pay a premium for certain popular colors right now like Anthracite or Silver (Irving salesman tried to jack up the price because I wanted Anthracite).
Good luck. You will definitely love the car.

I'm in Fort Worth with a
2001 Taffeta White TL
OEM Body Kit
OEM Spolier
H&R Sport Springs
For my body kit I got the dealer to install it for free, because I bought it with the car
I got my springs installed at Adrenalin MotorSports, there ok.
I never seen any fixed up TL's around here, all I see are type-S and normal TL's. :p

Can you recommend a place in DFW area other than a acura dealership to get the 30000 miles service for an Acura TL 3.2 2002. I heard that the dealerships charge an exhorbitant price for this service
Thanks
