Any one with AEM CAI and Comptech Exhaust
Hey Guys, sorry it has been so long. I'm back. How is everyone?
Anyway, I love the way the CAI sounds and I don't want to take away from that with exhaust. Should I be worrried or will it sound better?

yeah.. . below 3k or so, all you can hear is the exhaust though. but thats a good thing.. after awhile, the whistling/sucking noise from the CAI gets old. I like the exhaust sound more.

So basically, 1100 - 3000 I should hear the exhaust, and 3000 up should be the CAI. What about the loudness? Is the CAI louder than the exhaust? I know it's not a lawnmower exhaust, but I was looking for a comparison between the two sounds.

When you WOT, the intake sounds really nice and when just cruising along, the exhaust has a great tone to it. The 2 pieces together are a great combination and sound awesome however you drive the car, well worth the money.

Looking into the AEM intake...I don't want my car to sound like a lawnmower and I am afraid it will with the CAI. Any advice in the sound when hitting VTEC and when cruising a low RPM.

Lawnmower? no no no.. Almost everyone who's gone with the AEM loves the sound it makes in vtec range. It doesn't sound like a "lawnmower" at all. One can't really put into words how it sounds.
Maybe you should attend a meet and hear yourself how the CAI and exhaust sound like on our car.
