My original OEM was done about 3 years ago, I replace it with a Goodyear Aftermarket and it has been smooth and quiet ever since...
If your handy you can do it without removing the Alternator!
Here´s the Repair Manual DIY (56K Warning):
I didnt remove the Alternator, But I did remove the Side Engine Mount to make room for the tools... Hope this Helps Bud!

that looks similar to the 3G...
I had to do mine...the bearings on either the tensioner or idler pulley were shot and sounded like a friggin supercharger (minus the hp). Took me about 30 minutes to install.
The last part of the instructions above are not relevant because they assume you are trying to replace the pulleys on the tensioner, I would suggest, if you have the funds...just replace the tensioner as a whole.

I just did this too. Replaced whole thing, not just pulley. Center bolt is a little PITA. Also having a friend hold tensioner from above it while you start bolts from below car helps a lot.

Me too, it was cake took me 30 mins. 3 bolts, 1 top, 1 center of pulley, and 1 bottom. I also only took out the motor mount bracket.
It would be easier if you have a belt tenisoner tool, but a long 14mm wrench would work also, to loosen the belts.
