Mr. TL
The short ram will decrease your gas milage. That was one of my first mods. It gained a bit of power on the high rpm's only but it killed gas. I think that i could only get a max of about 325 per tank with very conservative driving. I ended up taking it off and now I get about 350-370 per tank, and the low rpm's are a bit more powerful. It DOES make a GREAT sound though.

PS i had a heat shielded Short ram and another disadvantage is that it still sucks in air that is underneathe your hood. The air is quite hot. TRy the Cold Air Intake, I hear it's pretty good.
hope this helps

Man, I was trying to stare at it with my eyes crossed to see if something will come out of it!
You mean it's not one of those pictures???? LOL
I have a short ram, I don't notice any major mileage change! Also, I get alittle increase throughout the rpm range. Or at least i didn't lose any power!
There is alot of resonance though!

Like someone else has already mentioned. The only disadvantage is that the short ram is sucking in the hot air in the engine bay.
You will get better mileage (given the way you drive is constant) b/c you are replacing the restrictive stock air filter with less-restrictive high-flowing air filter. Less restriction will give you more hp. But if you change your driving pattern (ie. drive more aggressively) because you get more power, your fuel efficiency will suffer. So, even if you're a pretty mellow driver, the intake will help you a bit by giving you better mpg.
