Anti Lock Brakes
I have a new '03 TLS with Navi.
I've noticed that as soon as I start the car and just begin to drive (whether in reverse or forward), the anti-lock brakes go off, twice. This happens even on warm days when the pavement is completely clean and dry.
This doesn't seem to cause any problems, the car drives fine. Still curious if this happens just to me or not.

no, i hear this collection of mild repetitive thuds, which i presume is the ABS system, as it sounds pretty much like it did in the accord.
the brakes should only go off, i presume, in skidding conditions or when braking on wet surfaces.

If you're referring to the two "buzzes" that happen when the car is first started and gets moving (at 5mph and 12mph I believe) that is the ABS system running a self-test. It says so in your manual.

I'll have to look it up.
So it runs a self test every time the car starts?
