Answer Quickly

I want to remove The A C U R A letters off the trunk And the 3.2TL S off Ive read in my nifty shop manual that it is just adhesive tape holding it on. Now when I pry it off is it going to damage the paint. How did you all remove that s#*t ????

Im ready to do it right now. THANKS

Its all about your taste, most people like a cleaner looking trunk or don't want people to know what model it is or some people live in places where little punks think its fun to steal badges, so better to remove them. I personally would just remove the 3.2 TL but I'm too lazy.

I think I would try a nice healthy hair dryer before I would use a heat gun. But then again I only used a heat gun to remove paint and that idea bothers me.

Okay Its done. It was so easy. Took two minutes.

I carefully used a small tip flat head screwdriver. I surgically pryed on the edge of each piece and watched it ease off. I than used my fingernail to remove any excess adhesive.

Looks Good. I will post a pic later. So you can judge for yourself.( and tell me what you think)

I am more than happy with the results

Here in TX all you have to do is wait for a "warm" day and slowly yank the emblems off :-)

My GF wanted to debadge her Civic EX so this is what we did. It is extremely easy, and DID NOT harm the paint in any way.
Personally, I like the A C U R A badges on the TL, but here's how to do it.

1. Open trunk and put a cloth or towel under the trunk area, then close it to prevent dripping.

2. Soak the badge well with "Goo Gone" on top and within the letters.

3. Let it soak for a few minutes.

4. Using fishing line, roll up the fishing line so that u have a good grip on the fishing line and start from either the left or the right side of the badge and go inward slowly moving the line up and down. it will make some noises, but it's normal.

5. After cutting thru the glue/adhesive the badge will pop off.

6. Squeeze more GooGone Spray Gell on the area where the adhesive still lays. Let it soak for a few minutes.

7. With your fingernail, gently scrape the rest of the adhesive off.

8.Wipe dry and you are done!

9. If you like, wash it, then clean it with a "cleaner wax" and follow up with a good coat of wax.

Good Luck.
