yes, one more tire .. with bubbles

i just got off phone with my borther-in-law. He just called me to tell me that there is a Flat tire in the car. its the Right Rear tire .. ... so, I told him to get it Fixed .. he went to the tire shop to get the flat fixed .. he was told that the tire has bubbles inside, and its not usable.

I told him to get it replaced with new tire... so, there goes another $175.00 ......... total cost for 2 tires in 2 days $350.00

 

At that price you should have gotten 4 new tires ( Nittos or Kumhos)...

 

hmmm ... i looked at 3 places .... but they were the same price !! i don't think its possible to get 4 tires unless those were not the one we have on our cars right now !!!

 

At the rate you're going, might as well replace all 4 tires and save yourself the hassle of another tire messing up.

 

Prashant, I suggest you contact Michelin about your tire problem. Unless you have a habit of jumping curbs or something, the sidewall seperation could be a result of a manufacturing defect. They might at the very least give you a break on replacing the other two!

I had a similar problem with Continental tires on my VW Passat. Three of the four tires were seperating (on the tread, not the sidewall).

Now I KNOW this is a touchy subject: the VW dealer paid to replace those three tires and I paid for the fourth. I don't know if the dealer was compensated by Continental. I went with Goodyear tires for the replacements!
