Another Guage Question

Hey guys,

The backlight for the KMS on my gauge cluster have been not working in the car since we bought it unless it's sub -15 degrees (celcius) and so I've been looking for a replacement for a while, but never found any in KMS.

Over the weekend, I managed to find one on Ebay that's in kms, but it's for a 00 5-speed auto, and I've got the 99 4-speed.

I'm wondering if anyone knows whether or not the 00 gauge cluster will swap right in, with no problems, and whether or not the D5 light will be my main light on while in D4.

Also I'm wondering what's going to happen when I go into shiftronic mode. Will it go 1-4, or will it try to go 1-5 and crap out on me.

Thanks for the input.

Been there, done that. I've pulled apart the whole thing and looked very closely at the circuits trying to find a solution. It's a heat related issue. Nothing to do with bulbs.

Yes, that's the one. I need to diagnose what component is causing the heat issues before I buy a KMS only cluster. That JDM one's been on there for a long time. I remember looking at that cluster last summer.
