Post Another %$@%$#% Ticket

This is why i HATE working weekends....got another ticket this morning on the way to work. Same exact thing as last time (3 months ago) 81 in a 55 and there was no getting out of it even though half of my family is NCPD and have friends that are troopers...I have an array of cards in my registration book and the stickers on the windshield, but it didn't matter. I might be loosing my license

I'll let ya know what happens in court....just had to vent!!

Damn, your insurance company must be loving you.

Now why would you get caught in the same place doing the same thing?

At least you pull over instead of doing a PrinceMir imitation (check off-topic).

Ya, as soon as I saw him i dropped into 3rd an moved to middle lane, thn to right, and then started to pull over cause I know he got me. I didn't even have a chance to tell him my father is on the job and that his best friend is a trooper because he asked for license and registration and then asked if my license was clean and I said yes. he then said stay in the car while I check your license. He comes back 5 mins later with the ticket, and I said, 'Guess it doesn't help any now, but my father is on the job and my neighbor is an active trooper', and he says, 'well usually that helps before I write the ticket'. I told him he said he was only running my license to make sure i wasnt lying.....I could have handled it better (god knows i have gotten out of worse) but I was really hungover and had to go into work (this happened at like 8am sat morning). Oh well.......

I don't think that would help..NY and NJ have different radars and its an instant on/off thing....so hen your radar detects it...its already to late. I need something to absorb all radar frequencies....i'll have to wrap my car in alumin foil or something

That would do the opposite! If you take a car with absolutely no shiny part on it, the paint is dull(primed) the cop will have a harder time catching you.. it doesn't have as much of a reflection to bounce off and back to the radar.. why do you think our license plates are reflective?

With instant-on radar you have to use the cars in front of you and your detector combined. Your detector, if it is good, should go off briefly when the cop instant-ons the car in front of you. So, if your radar gives you a quick beep but then goes off, then you should be careful and slow down because their could be a cop up ahead.

Thumbs up

With instant on radar, there isn't much you can do, except pick it up when the guy in front get's caught with it. But because of V1's range, I think it was like 2x or 3x of conventional radar/laser dectectors, you stand a better chance, that's all.

Also with V1, you can tell where the signal is coming from. FRT/SD/BCK

sucks for the one who is getting clocked...the V1 gives someone a better chance to drive by the cop at the legal speed limit...

i got a 81 in a 50 zone about 4 month ago on staten island... it was around midnight on a friday night and noone on the road... and the V1 did go off and that's the only thing that saved me from not getting a 110 in a 50 and being taken away in handcuffs... still... i was kinda tired and would actually have seen him sooner if i was paying more attention to sides of the road... now i gotta suffer with the speed limit in NY cuz if u get a 3rd speeding ticket in 18 month in NY they take away the license
