Annoying sqeaks..

Where is it coming from? Is it the seats?

Should I just take it into the dealership and have them check it out?

Will they fix it? For Free?

Some help please.

how the hell should anyone but you know on this forum...it's your car, and you drive it...

a little more descriptive would be helpful...what year is your car (maybe there's a known issue with that year), what model of TL is it? TL-S? TL-P....where abouts is the noise coming from? for all we know, you could be complaining of a noise that is coming from the road that you take daily...

please be more specific next time.

well if it's a persistent thing then bring into the dealership and they'll probably get you to show them the noise and usually they have no problem fixing it for you. if your car is still under warranty or if it's a known issue then it'll be free.

I get this squeaky/creaking noise from the inside of the car too. I have no idea where it is coming from but i believe it is from the seats. Someone had said from the seat belt fasteners.

I usually hear it when I hit something bumpy even if it is slight. I have removed everything from the car to see if it was something I put in there.

I haven't taken it to the dealer yet though

Most of the squeaks and rattle come from the headliner and the springs in the back of the front seats.... i took mine to the dealer and had it fixed. The backs of the front seat come off. You see the springs that are causing the annoying aqueaks.... they rub together to cause the annoying squeaks.

Sorry... this car is really squeaky and very full of noises of all sorts. Some noises come from the seat belt, others from the moonroof, others from the tachometer/speedometer area, some from the arm rest... its just an endless list. Sure they will get it fixed at the dealer... but its sooooo much time wastes, everytime you come out from the dealer with a problem fixed, a new one pops out.

The seat squeek/creak has it's very own tsb.. If your car is still under the factory warranty the dealer will fix it free like they did for me.

There is a post on the driver's seat that helped me today on my first visit to the dealer, if I find it around here I let you know. The post said that (and it was right on) on the back of the driver's seat there are two clamps that come together and when your body press against the back they rub. I told the mechanic at the dealer when he told me they can duplicate the same problem that you describe and I was having, we took the car for a spin and sure enough he heard the noise. They took the back of the seat off apply some tape aroud the two clamps and problem solved. I told him about this site and how helpful it will be for them to check it out.

Mines comes from the seat belts up front, there is a rattle behind teh driver left vent, and it seems like the roofs creaks sometimes. All hopefully will be taken care of on the next oil change.

I'm pretty sure it's coming from the seats..

It's getting pretty annoying, but I blast my music most the time.

But i'm still going to go get it fixed.

I have had the same seatbelt squeak/creak you're talking about. The noise comes from the drivers seatbelt fastener. Every time I hit a bump or my weight shifts in my seat it causes the fastener assembly to squeak. The dealer replaced the fastener assembly and that cured the problem...for a while. It has recently started up again. I've also had the rattling sunroof problem. There is an easy dealer fix for that one (transparent 3M tape applied around the sunroof opening on the "body" of the car). No problems since.
