Amber LED Turn Signals

Hey Guys,

recently dropped about $200 at vleds.com for a few lights including these led turn signals http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/Parking-Light-LED/Amber-LED/V-LEDS-AMBER-V-STAR-M-p6472891-1-2.html . also with resistors just in case

Dont know if this has been posted before but these things did not fit in the socket of the taillight blinker thingy. i tried them out before putting them all the way in the taillight and they look amazing but unfortunately they arent usable in my 2000 tl. i only purchased them cuz they were the most expensive and expected good quality lol. anybody have any suggestions for a top quality LED amber blinker light as an alternative from vleds.

thanks in advance!

The ones that are listed at 7w or 8w high power work the best

It's because the width of the LED is too big. There are some info on here that shows how wide the socket for the turn signals are and that should tell you which one to buy.

You are going to scratch the lens when you try to put them in. They are going to be bright but I wouldn't of gotten them for the turn signal. I would only use them in the brake light.

brakes lights would have been better to have use them in first, they are "on" a lot more often, every time your foot is on the brake, and at a dimmer setting at night also

but red ones should be the brightest, because of how the housing lens will filter out all of the other colors from the white lighting, so more light be pass through and be visible

Always match the color of the lens to the color of the led unless the lense is clear, then you can use anything.

Tons of people have switchbacks.

Get the V1s those. They are nicer than V2s.

Get these for the front. http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/T...68714-1-2.html

Why not do a red LED turn signal in the rear? It would give a nice look IMO.

Ooops my bad. I thought this was a 3G thread.

Here you go...

Looks like you can only get the V2s.

http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/T...14824-1-2.html

Red turn signals are legal. Most new cars come with red tail lights that blink red. Cars have had red turn signals for many years. You will be good.

Well you could always customize it and put LED strips in there instead of a bulb.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-x-2...Q5fAccessories

Also, since you are going to be putting LEDs in the brake lamps, you are going to need the warning fix. It hooks up just like a resistor but it is makes the car think that there is a bulb with the required wattage there instead of the low wattage the LED has which would make the car think that the bulb is out.

Look on eBay.

You can find almost the same bulbs for half the price. Just read the feedback so that you don't get screwed.

They do have the V1s in stock...

http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/T...68712-1-2.html

Also the V2s are 5000K and 6000K.

These are 5000K:
http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-LED/T...14824-1-2.html

Again V1s greater than V2s.

Let me find some videos...

hmmm interesting....

so the V1s blink white with amber parking lights? thats what it looked like from the video

and the V2s blink Amber with white parking lights? It looks like the V2s took forever to restore back to the white led after the blinker was on.

No they run white and rotate from white and amber when blinking.

The V2s only blink amber and the white only is on when the turn signal isn't on.

still couldnt get it. maybe if i had fingers like E.T.
i might have to just do the signals when i put the aem v2 on and i should have more room without the stock air filter box thingy in the way. but that only solves one side. i guess ill have to get a front lip and the rest of the lip kit too so i have to take off the front bumper

anybody selling a front 99-01 oem lip?
