So I parked my car at my friends place to head to the FSU game today. After a good win, I get back and notice my side mirror folded in, confused, I go to check it out and this is what I see...



No note no nothing, I'm assuming since there was a lot of tailgating going on, someone hit the mirror with a football.

Heres a picture of the inside...does anyone know if I can just replace the mirror, I can't tell what piece broke off by the motor...





Any help in regards to how to take the glass off properly and put the new mirror on would be appreciated. I'm assuming I definitely need part 2, do I need 6 or 7?

this is why i stay away from football...i assume you were talking about Michigan against...someone, who won?

doesn't look like you need to replace the entire mirror, but definetely a solid 150 (i think?)
will insurance cover it?

I'd look on eBay. They always have mirrors for the 04-07 TL. I don't know what year your TL is, but one of these might fit:

Well the glass is just $40. I don't know if I need anything else, I don't know what screws in where in regards to the motor that adjusts the mirror. The assembly/housing is fine. My insurance policy covers "GLASS" for free, so seeing how a mirror is glass, I'm hoping they will cover it, especially because a side mirror is as essential as a windshield, so I'll call on Monday to see whats up as far as that goes.

Any other information about what it seems like I need to replace, and how to remove everything is appreciated

From the looks of it you just need the glass. Fold the mirror glass in as much as possible and just pull it out. Wear gloves to avoid cutting yourself. The new piece has 3M tape on it as well as new tabs that just pop in.

No, it was the FSU vs. Maryland game yesterday. I think I know who did the damage, and if I'm correct they are effin Miami fans...go figure.......I have a "GLASS" contract on my insurance, so I'm gonna call tomorrow and see if this is what they qualify as glass...if not, I guess i'll order up this mirror and see how that works as far as fixing my problem.
