Almost new owner of a 99 TL!
well after much debate as to whether i should buy a tl even with the knowleadge of tranny problems i went ahead and just put a down payment on a 99 silver one with 55k, the car is fully loaded with oem kit and aftermarket exhaust...i can't wait to pick it up on fri and start moding it...since acura extended the tranny warranty to 100k i felt that was save enough for me to go ahead with the car....i was wondering when did acura start making tl-type s models? because in the back of the car it had the sticker but i though they didn't make the type s model till 01 and up?

It was actually '02 that the TLS came out. Congrats on ur purchase and you will see that the mod bug is very catchy. Lots of great ideas on this board from different members so just do searches and you will find them. Chances are someone has already done it...Good Luck

sounds like you are buying a TL that has already been modded. I would be careful to make sure the person hasn't butchered the car with the mods ( A type-s sticker for a 99TL is just stupid) check in the engine and see if he has done anything else. Maybe he has modded it passed the 260hp type-s, in that case, still the sticker is stupid, but I would understand the rational.

well the only performance mod to the car is the exhaust...other then that everything is stock....i already had the car check out and everything is in good condition...yes i will be debaging of the type-s sticker since it's a 99 and post some pics of car....by the way how do u post pics on here?
