for all you daily drivers

i am moving and as a result my work commute will be about 40mi each way. how many of you are dropped with aftermarket rims and drive alot? im contemplating with the debate of:

good wheels = good construction
but
good wheels = if they get chipped from rocks or other weirdo debris

less good wheels = cheaper
but
less good wheels = may get beat down faster

any insight, thoughts or suggestions? i was looking at some 18x7.5 ~45mm 225/40/18
im thinking chrome would be a bad choice due to amount driven... anyways...

just get the wheels you like best. it doesnt matter how far you drive. you could mess up a wheel pulling out of your drive way. just be aware of pot holes and curbs!

Distance doesnt really matter, the roads in your area do.

Id feel safer driving 500 miles in Miami o Vegas for example than 50 miles back and forth through Manhattan.

true. the roads here seem okay for the most part. now to ponder airbags for the blasted driveway curbs around here.

Moved to Indy last November and the roads here are probably as bad as Ohio's are. I ruined 3 Falken skins (Bubbles) and a Focal wheel (bent) last winter driving my 'lude 50 miles a day. I was too busy/lazy/stupid to get winter tires and hit a man-eating pothole on I-65 one night. At least I was smart enough not to take my TL-S out of the garage...

Even with winter wheels, the salt will eat you alive. Then there's the auto car wash and screwed up paint...

I suggest you buy a winter beater and let your baby hibernate...

haha ive driven it through the winter. i'll keep my stock wheels tho for a winter wheel. most of my driving is just highway and im usually pretty cautious. just wondering what wheels other daily driver/commuters have on their rides.
