Congrats...had these on stock shocks on my 04 si and handled very nicely and DID give the perfect "non adjustable" drop. I've since coughed up the scratch for full coils but H&R is a great spring. I had it on stock shocks too...I'm sure the KYB combo will make you smile. Congrats!

PS...Kuruma motoring is great...fast shipping and exactly as described...bought my springs from them in the past and tein ss's now.

the 50103's are the ones needed for the 99-01s. On ebay they're usually labeled as being for the 96-98 tl i believe (mine were atleast).

jus noticed...nice combination ya got there....but you might as welll just go with coilovers.. i mean by the links your posting its a roughly $800 package and for maybe $100 or less more you could get a badass set of fully adjustable coilovers such as tein basics or ksports....

Teins
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TEIN-...ht_2642wt_1201

Ksports - and im sure excelerate on the forums will hook ou upwith these

Yeah, like they say above, the newer 50103 set of H&R Sports are preferred over the 51858 set, but I can tell you that I have the H&R 51858 set (installed by previous owner) and I have ZERO sag. The gap in the wheel wells front vs. back are exactly the same, four years after he installed them.

Then again, the previous owner didn't have kids, used the TL-S as a commute vehicle (with only him in the car, no carpool) so the back seat was always empty. He (and I now) always kept the trunk empty with no system - similar to me.

I still scrape at times, a lower drop is not reasonable if you have poor road conditions. Like I said perfect drop.

From what i THINK i remember, the 51858 set was more made for the 02-03 models.

Coilovers are overrated. Custom setup FTW. But if you just want slammage then go for it.

It's actually the other way around, as per H&R's website at http://www.hrsprings.com/scripts/app...Find3&MakeID=1

Well thats a pretty chart. I stand corrected i guess lol. BTW OP i love my "custom" setup with these springs and koni shocks. Coilovers would have been too aggressive for some of the roads i drive on.

If you don't want coilovers, get Tokico HP shocks instead of those KYB. You'll save like $500. I got mine from seller jdmwerks on eBay.

EDIT: Also, do get the 50103 springs like everyone says. You can get those from excelerate too.

To each their own. Coilovers offer no noticeable advantage to the average driver during the every day commute.

If you want adjustability then sure.

thanks for all the helps guys but I have been doing my research and Im happy with the choices I made with my setup we shall see how happy I am once I get it all installed.

The only reason why I didnt go for coilovers is simply because its just too aggressive for a daily driver... I know alot of you have coilovers and probably lots of your cars are dailys but I drive on some mean ass streets and I think Ill sacrifice a little wheel gap for the sake of my car lol. Maybe when I get some money together Ill buy a civic beater and the TL can be my weekend car THEN we can talk about coilovers and slamming it but for now my daily driver is gonna be sitting on some KYBs and H&R Springs.

Im soooo excited to get this stuff on the car its gonna be a long 1-2 weeks waiting for my packages to arrive

Niiice. Yeah I also prefer custom shock and spring set up for daily driving. I'm trying to save up for a H&R sport/ Bilstein combo this summer but working at school does not get you paid. for a girl that researches about her car before buying parts!

the teins aren't a rough ride at all if thats what you mean by aggressive, and you can raise your car during the winter so you won't be a snow plow, i dont see the cons

so ur not willing to spend an extra 100 bux mayb less to get coilovers for that advantage?

the whole point of gettin coilovers is so you can drop ur car to the height u desire, as opposed to gettin springs and later saying "oh i wanna go lower" and wasting more money duhh

I just dont think its necessary for me since I really dont plan on having my daily driver dropped that low and i dont want to run the risk of destroying my car from a pothole or a dip in the road etc. Like I said earlier if my TL turns into my weekend car then Ill consider it but for now coilovers are not necessary for my needs.

eh I dont really need that kind of adjustablity since Ill never be driving my car that low... ya know? I mean its a nice feature just not for me... like I said if the TL ever turns into my weekend car THEN I will consider coilovers so I can bring her low but until then it just doesnt seem worth it to me.

My point is that my TL will most likely not be becoming my weekend car anytime soon maybe never... Im not baller I just dont see any reason to have coilovers when chances are Im never going to lower my car that low... Id rather have a smooth ride and keep my car intact then lowered and destroy it with potholes...

I dont see the need to be nasty about it... not EVERYBODY wants their car slammed to the ground
