Try disconnecting the hood latch switch. That seems to be the most common cause of this. It's the two wires going to the hoodlatch. The connector can be difficult to disconnect at times.

My guess is a faulty hood latch sensor as well.

I replaced my hood latch a month ago for the same issue. It gets gummed up with crud and the contacts get worn. Replace it yourself if you can. I had the garage do it but could have saved $80 labour.

Sometimes the car battery starts to go bad---with intermittent voltages and that causes the alarm to go off because it senses a voltage drop. At least it did on my old Honda.

A couple of years back mine got so bad that I ended up disconnecting the alarm system.

they replaced so many different components and couldn't figure it out so we just disconnected it.

I mean I know I run an elevated risk of being robbed...but the way I see it, how many people actually think twice when they hear a car alarm in a parking lot or outside? most just assume its the owner. If its gonna get stolen, it's gonna get stolen and they'll be able to disconnect the alarm fast enough anyways
