Alarm frustration

Well, I've been having a problem with my alarm going off randomly... The soft beep was seldom after the second lock press. After reading online and comparing the symptoms I was getting to those of other users, I was 80% sure the culprit was the hood latch.

As it turns out, I was wrong.

I was able to lock the car, I got a beep and was pleased. I went back inside and 45 minutes later it was going off again.

I'm not positive... but after replacing the hood latch, I am now 95% sure it is the trunk latch.

Does anyone have any insight on verifying this?

thanks

Been busy trying to find a house and find a way to buy it... The boss says no more car stuff. (In so many words)

its most likely a pin switch of some sorts.

just for shits, i double check each door pin switch, ive ran across in honda's where the actual pin switch was fubar'd, get a phillips and pull them out and double check to make sure they are connected.

ive also noticed the trunks having problems as well. makes sure your trunk light is coming on and going off when you open and close the trunk. i noticed this once with my own vehicle when i opened my trunk the light didnt kick on, i move the lid up and down a few times and it came on.

All the door pins looked fine and the trunk latch looked fine.
Since I have been using my trunk a lot, I decided I would replace the trunk latch....

So far, since Saturday, the alarm is beeping on the second button press every time. It hasn't gone off randomly yet.
Due to it's infrequency, I'll give it a week or two before I decide it is cured.
Here's to hoping the second times a charm...

btw, the plastic grommets on the trunk liner can suck it...
