Air/Fuel question

ive been meaning to ask this question for a long time...
Ok, so the i have one of those Apexi AFC neo things that show some stats and let you temporarily adjust the air fuel mixture.
Im aware that the ECU slowly counteracts any adjustments.
The previous owner told me he had it adjusted at a shop to make it run slightly richer hoping to take advantage of the install of headers, CAI, downpipe, resonator delete ect.

I'm curious if running it rich has advantages or if its actually dangerous for the engine.

It was done at a performance import shop where i live that does turbo setups and such (guy was friends with the owner).

Pull the CLOCK fuse or let it stay at whatever the ECU has adjusted to over time?

Running rich is fine to a point BUT its not the best for power. There is a fine balance between lean and just right which is what you want.
