Guys, I was wondering if your climate control makes wierd grinding noises when use switch air flow from your face to your feet. Mine only does that when I switch from face to feet... it sounds like its having hard time switching and making whining noise. Its not loud, you can only hear it when you are parked and its silent inside/outside... After few seconds noise stops.
does it supposed to be noisy like that? What about your climate controls? Is it a sign that it will be broken soon.
btw, I have 2001 CLS

 

my 99 does that all the time, i got used to it now
i hope its normal though

It's normal if everything is quiet, you can here the motor switch the air path...but if you driving...u probably won't hear it.

 

Other modes are quiet, except face to feet.... it starts making this buzzing noise for few seconds, almost like something is stuck on the way of the switch. You can hear this noise if you turn your radio off and car is parked, otherwise you can't hear it.

 

My '00 TL makes that sort of noise when I turn on ignition and climate control is set to Auto. Lasts 1-2 seconds. Of course, dealer did not see any problems when I had it in for service last time, so next time I will rub their face in it.

I do not think it is normal. Especially now, knowing that Comet2404 has no such problem.

 

Yeah, dealer will most likely tell you that he could not hear the noise, or will tell you that its normal for it to make noises.
They would not want to take your dash apart because of the noise.....
