Unhappy ahhhhhhh! how bad is it to do this

so, i was driving around today, and i switched to SS and i was in 2nd, and then i forgot i was in it, then i floored the car, and hit the rev limiter full on and then i stopped, is this really bad for the car. Also, i had the car in N, and i reved to like 5k and then i dropped it into drive and burned out. Is doing this once or twice going to screw me over. Also, VSA off and Flooring the car while in d5 ,so u peel out a bit, not bad for the car right?

rev limiter is there for a reason so it wont hurt your car. i think it is prob not wise to be hitting quite often, but its there so the car will not over-rev and explode. i'm pretty sure that dropping it from N -> D is bad for the tranny. you should already know that your car doesnt have the most bullet proof tranny, so i wouldnt advise doing that again. and the flooring it while the VSA is off should be fine, because we all have done it...some more than others. but yeah, it shouldnt be bad for the car at all.

hitting the revlimiter wont hurt the car, thats what its there for , SO YOU DONT HURT THE ENGINE! as for droping it into gear thats not good for it, as for flooring it as to spin the tires, well the only thing your doing is shortning the life of your tires

id stick to holding the brake while gassing it for launches instead of dropping from N>D

You did a neutral drop from 5k rpms? I surprised your transmission didn't fall out of the bottom of your car! :grenade: :smackhead

This has to be a joke...

mines hit the revlimiter atleast 1000 times in the last 3 years and mines still running strong at 143,500 miles. hitting the revlimiter wont hurt. but the tranny drops will

why don't you go in reverse about 15mph, THEN throw it into D5 and squeal your tires like whr*e on sat night!!

The you can call a tow truck to pick up your trannie and car and meet you at the dealership!!!

Hey if you want to squeal, do it in style!!

What kind of car are you planning on getting next??

I did the N->D drop on the 04 Maxima when I had it as a loaner when I was getting a new tranny, gives a nice peel out but I would NEVER do it to my car. I could almost see the car just dying right there and all you'll hear is a CLUNK and down it goes. I think your okay, just don't do it too often.
