Ahhhh! Help on bulbs

alright im really confused between the 6000k and the 8000k, which one of these bulbs give off the most light? i like the blueness of the 8000k but i dont want my light capacity to go down, and if thats the case are the 6000k the next best to stock hid's?

Here's the output from Philips:

4100K D2R - 2800 lumens (stock)
6000K D2R - 2400 lumens

I don't really know what the 8000K is since Philips doesn't make these but I think you can do some extrapolation.

BTW, both 6000K and 8000K are illegal for on road use. Good luck with your decision.

6000K is not illegal in all states, but I think you would have a higher chance of being harrassed by cops in a big city. Nothing gives out as much light as stock. 6000K gives out more light than 8000K, but 8000K is bluer. The higher up the Kelvin scale you get, the more blue the light seems. 10000K and 12000K are almost purple, and produces the lowest amount of light.

What do you mean by better on vision? If you mean best visibility on the road, out of the two, 6000K would be best. If you mean better on oncoming driver's vision, I'm not sure.

I think you should go with 6000K then. I really don't think its an insanely huge difference of light output.

the 6000k will give you that color when you turn on your stock lights. stick with 6000k, its legal, its bright, and gives you a really nice blue color without fading into yellowish white.

KrazyTL does I think.... Check your state laws and see if 6000K is illegal or not. Even if it is, chances are that you won't get pulled over for it unless your lights are aimed too high.

I have 6000k, search for the thread where I posted pix.

You have pretty good lumens output, and the color is nice.

If you're looking for quality, go for Phillips. I got mine here http://www.plasmagarage.com/ Other sites have 6000K, I don't remember which one that krazy_tl works at. Make sure the ones that you buy aren't the cheap tinted kind. They should look blue, not green.

Here guys, this site explains everything you need to know about HID bulbs: http://faq.auto.light.tripod.com/hl-hid-bulbs.htm It's not meant for Acura vehicles, so not everything on it applies to our cars.

6000 produces less useabe light output than the stock 4200.
8000 produces less useable light output than the 6000.
so on and so on. the higher the k the more the light shifts to blue then purple, but neither of those colors help you see better, they do the opposite

Both work. D2C is a kind of universal bulb, going between reflector and projector headlight setups.

I believe the company that makes them is called Xentronics located in Japan.

I bought them from www.hidexpress.com, the member Krazy_TL is nice a guy who manages it, and has the hook up.

peace

PS by the way I love the bulbs

Hmmm...
Did a google on xetronic and got a lot of places that sell these but not the manufacturer themselves. Maybe they don't have an internet presence. Strange...
