Aftermarket resonator on stock piping...

Aftermarket resonator on stock piping...
Been reading up a bit on the 04-08 TL's and they seem to be adding in dynomax resonators in place of the OEM ones.
Will adding a resonator to teh stock piping just make the exhaust tone deeper? Or will it make it louder also?
I'm currently running the stock resonator -> removed pre-muffler -> into two axlebacks. Looking to make the car slightly louder without going to 2.5" piping if I dont have to.
Any input?
