Aftermarket Navigation
Hey guys, did a search, but only found stuff on installed navi's. I want to buy an aftermarked GPS/NAVI but don't want to take out the head unit. Any suggestions that you like, heard of, reviewed? There were a couple options from Best Buy and Circuit city that I wanted...only concern was hookups, wiring, etc..Price range is 200-400. Thanks.
If you're looking for a real good non dash unit (non installed), the Garmin Quest is a great GPS- accurate as can be, and ~$359 on eBay (depending on the vendor). The Quest 2 is the same as the quest, but it has the maps (not just the basemap) preloaded, but it's also more expensive for this feature (~$559). The Quest can have it's information updated at any time with a PC, and it comes with the windshield mount (very solid) and voice turn by turn directions.
I've got a Magellan Roadmate 700 and it's sweet. I bought it before I installed the Nav in my car but the Roadmate is really nice. Great features, touch screen and all the other goodies but it's a little pricey. May have gone down since the Roadmate 760 came out. Go to cnet.com and do a search for it. That site is very helpful in buying any electronics. Let us know what you decide.
