to wax, polish and all that other good stuff? I just got my door and my hood repainted and I remember reading some where a long time ago about it not being good to wax right away. I can't find that thread again.

No waxing for like 2-3 month if I remember correctly. Thats cuz the paint hasn't cured yet. Unlike the factory which cures their paint at high temps, paint shops don't have these huge ovens for the cars.

After my dealer repainted the nose of my TL-S under warranty he said it was o.k. to do all the waxing etc. right away. I thought that was a little too soon so I left it alone for a couple weeks. When I DID do it after about three weeks it came out fine. I only used a non-cleaner wax on it though.

You can
glaze (like Meguiar's show car glaze) right away, but I would let it sit for one month - opinions vary, but to be safe I would use a glaze (or if your worried about waterspots and the like) use a Quick Detailer with NO SILICONE - like Zymol's QD, to wipe it down.
since it will be clear coated the argument is that the curing time is moot, because the clear coat will get the final "bake" and the paint beneth should be cured. The danger is that the clear coat could still be "soft" and prone to swirl marks if you use an agressive cleaner wax (why show car glaze should be fine - it "feeds" the paint but does not clean).
Once you wait that month - a good washing, polish (or glaze) and then a good wax with no cleaner properties should keep you swirl free and protected..
(to stay swirl free - stay away from pay carwashes unless they are touchless and NO ONE is drying your car - do it yourself or the big a$$ blow drying thing in a touchless car wash)..(or drive home @ 60 mph to blow off the water
).
