Aem V2

Hi, could someone let me know how hard it is to install the AEM V2 in a 1999 TL. Is it a do-it-yourself project or something I should bring to a dealer?

i havent done it...yet, but it looks like it is pretty easy if you are inclined. I have put new air intakes on other cars, and its not hard at all - kinda fun actually!! I have a '99 TL also, how do you like yours???

I asked the local performance place and they said they charge somewhere in the $80 mark.
So it must be pretty tricky or their just slick.
By the way did you purchase the V2 if so how much.

its a fairly easy job. there are two ways. 1 remove the fenderliner to gain acess to the factory resonator and install the new filter, or option 2 (the one i like better and think is faster) remove the front bumper. do a search on CAI install and you will find alot of instructions

True, you do have to remove the bumper...not a big deal but some people may get nervous. Just get a buddy and search for some instructions or call AEM and you should be fine. Or you could pay someone 70 - 100 bucks to do it, but I would rather save the money and do it myself. have fun
