AEM CAI doesn't fit so well

AEM CAI doesn't fit so well
The smaller hose that hooks to the CAI, the one closest to the front of the car, was a real bastard to get on. Then when I put on the plastic engine cover, the hose doesn't fit in the cut out on the cover. 
Its like the CAI should be pushed more towards the throttle body... but its already as far as it goes, touching it.
Has anyone else had this problem?
