Sup everyone I've been really thinking of trading in my type s for the new 2004 TL. Honestly I think they type-s looks better and I really like my car. What do you guys thinkof the situation? I like the side and back of the new tl, but i hate the front. Type S I like it all around. Advice please.

So you want to take a financial loss to buy a car whose front you hate?

Sounds like a dumb idea but maybe that's just me.

The TL-S 03 looks so much better than the 04, dont do it. The 03 is extremely classy, is an original car (only in production for 2 years type S that is), and can be made faster for probably what youre going to lose on the trade in. The 04.... where do I begin, sometimes I see Mazda 6's from the front at a quick glance and I'll be like "Is that a new TL?" It actually looks like a hooked up 6 to me, is way overpriced, only has 10 more hp, and is just a mediocre car in my opinion. Bad decision with the body

I dont know if i would go that far.

The 02-03 TL is a beautiful car....very classic, very sleek....the 04 is just a very bold design, almost commanding and attention seeking...IMO. the 03 doesnt stand out in a crowd the way the 04 does.

But the biggest kicker is the interior. 04 completely out-does 03 as far as the bells and whistles inside the cockpit are concerned. To me it seems to have a lot more clean and airy feel than the 03.

All things said...would i give up an 03 TL-S for the 04, probably not....the financial loss is not all worth it....specially if u dont like the front of the 04.

btw....i personally like the front..very sharp looking, the back i thought was too high...but i have developed a taste for it since i first saw it.

I know this is about opinions but you really think the 04 has a bold design?!?! ahah it never turns my head and never will

I wouldn't trade in your TLS for the '04 - Does anyone else think the back of the new '04 TL looks like a mustang?? from the rear window to the whole back of the car - that's the first thing I noticed when I saw the new '04 TL - Looks too much like a mustang!

I like the look of the 04, for some reason though it looks much smaller than the 03. The rear is pretty bad, it looks ALOT like a mitsubishi galant from the rear.

The interior on the other hand is waaaayyyyyyy nicer than the 03, but it feels smaller in there.

I wouldn't trade in my 02 at this time b/c of the tremendous $$$ loss I would take for a slightly better car, why bother?

Don't get too caught up with the newer features on the 04. That'll pass. Wait until '06, they might even do another Type-S, who knows? The 04 is too new to tell it's a problem-free car. I would never buy a first year model.

like many have said the 04 interior is sweet but the car doesnt do it for mt the back i do not like ...and the tailpipes on the 04 are fugly...........im def stickin w my 03 TLS

The '04s still remind me of a Saturn .. even with all the gadgets, I still get a lot of compliments of my TL-S..which looks a hell a lot better than the '04, in my opinion.

Thanks for all the advice all. Im gonna think this over most likely judging by your guys opinions I won't go through with it. I guess the interior has just been the reason i've been wanting to. Also the feeling of having a new car hehe. Just like hte feeling when you first bought your type-s. Thanks for all your replys!!!

Now if u didnt have a type S.....that puts the scale over to the 04....big time. Makes the decision process a lot easier.

Other than taking a hit money wise, you can't go wrong with the 04 TL. Although if I ever traded in my baby it would be for the S2000.
