Adjusting Outside Temp Readout?
Alright. I know this has been posted here probably 20x, but I'm too stupid to dig it up with the Search feature. I've found lots of references to the idea, but...
Anyway, how do I adjust the outside temp reading? It's about 3° high.
I've done the Key to ON, hold Select and Reset for 10 sec, and the display (which was reading 101 at the time) flashed to just "1", but how do I actually adjust from there? I tried a couple of different key combos, but didn't get anything to change.
I need some schooling.
While class is in session, does the Non-Navi climate control have any sort of diagnostics? I think my mix control quit working- always blows cold until I dial up to 90, then hot all of a sudden. Not that it matters this month, but...
Thanks,
Todd

push and hold both trip buttons
turn key on and hold buttons for 10 seconds until beep
I think you reset the oil reminder

You were on the right track. You just let go too soon. The display will cycle through 1,2,3, and then -1,-2-,-3. Stop at the point you want to reach. For example, if you are SURE the MID is reading 3 degrees high, then you want -3.
Hope that helps. First thing is to make sure your MID is off by 3 degrees.
Unfortunately, the trip odo resets too.

Thanks, S PAW! I didn't hang on long enough.
Yeah, I checked it against a known good temp sensor (which I hung out the window of the car while driving for 5 miles).
The outside temp sensor is up under the front left valance near the bumper, I thought.
The other sensors are inside temp sensors- one by your right knee below the key on the dash, the other on the top of the dash to detect the solar heat gain effect. Those are for climate control. Other than info, I don't know what the outside temp sensor is used for??

you turn the key first, then press and hold the trip and reset to do that without resetting anything

In Ohio, I find it very useful in wintertime. It can let us know when the road has reached 32 degrees, and to look for icing. I also like the heated mirrors and seats.
But it's nearly 100 right now, and hope the '09 has ventilated seats, but that's a different topic.
Never happy, we TL owners

The outside temp reader is to remind you, while secluded in the auto-temp controlled environment which you may soon exit, that it could be substanially different outside !
