Acura wouldn't do my alignment so i came home and used claybar
so i had an appointment today at 7:45 AM to get my alignment done. i was the first on the list for saturday. anyways, i give the dude my keys and about 30 minutes later i hear a page that says "corey please come to service". i was thinkin there is no way my car can be finished this soon so somethin must be wrong. so i talk to the service guy and he says "the heads on my machine won't fit on ur rims cuz they are too big". I was like WTF cuz don't the new TL A-Spec's come with 18's? GAYNESS!!! now i gotta find somewhere else to get my wheels aligned. whats up with that
also i got hella bored when i came home and couldn't go back to sleep so i used claybar on my car. i used a variety of products and it turned out amazing
first i washed with Dawn dish detergent
then i clayed my car in the garage using meguiars quick detailer and mothers clay bar (i ran out of mothers instant detailer and i thought meguiars would do a good lube job)
next i washed using meguiars NXT car wash.
i parked my car back in the garage and used mothers carnuba (sp?) cleaner wax and followed up with a coat of meguiars NXT wax. the results are incredible. i would post pics but my 2.1 megapixel camera wouldn't even begin to do any justice. i know my neighbor thinks im crazy for washing my car 2 times in less than 5 hours.
thats all
sorry for the long post.

i took my car to NTB they alighned my TL with 18's and my pair of 20's for my SC. NTB charged me $110 balance and alignment on 18's took 2 hours. came out great. i think they used the laser alignhment and rated speed up to 120 i think.

i would never take my car to the dealer for a alighment in the first place. find a place that specializes in it, they will be cheaper and do a better job

Forgive my ignorance, but where else might one go for alignment? --- What kind of places would 'specialize' more in this type of work?

j/k
i hate taking my car to shitty places that hire kids fresh out of high school. they rip you off and get ur car all dirty. well, i guess thats what happens, i never have taken my car to one of those places and didn't plan to until acura refused to give me an alignment. :o

He did that, to strip the original wax off the car, so that when he clay bars and especially when applying the polymer based NXT Tech Wax, it makes a better bond with the paint and brings out the luster.
Dawn I dont believe eats the clear coat, just strips the wax.

I went to National TIre and batt. Also. I took it their after I myself put the comptech springs on. I have 18 inch rims and they had no problems. They seem very professional and certified mechanics, not just some young kid.
