Damn, I was hoping you had a Type S and he had a Z. I have a friend with a '95 Z and I have a Type S, and he always tells me how fast his car is...

When i see the word CAMARO i think, AMERICAN MUSCLE, yes its only a 95 as your saying, but if i had to put money down, id say the CAMARO kills you. Our TL's were never designed with performance in mind, not for the racer atleast. Live to see another day man, dont race him.

I beat the living shit out of V6 camaros, but I have a Type-S. On the highway, I can get the V8s, but not from a dead stop. You should take him tho, the V6 Camaros are slow as hell.

Come on guys!!

It's a 6-Cylinder Camaro, not a V-8.

All looks, no muscle. Assuming it is indeed stock.

Maybe a little more torque on the low end, but I doubt it'll matter by the time you guys reach 60+.

check this out, our engine is japanese engineering at its best, i bet he may take off a lil faster then you from a dead stop, but I bet that american engine cant hold up to a long endurance race without breaking down, for example racing from fl to ny @ 140mph nonstop, oops, thats right those camaro's have a govenor on them that limits their speed well below 140mph anyway right, rofl

In 95 the Z had 270 HP, which would put it on par with the Type S, the real difference and deciding factor is the difference in torque. The Z has 325lb/ft of torque and the Type S has 232 lb/ft, so from a dead stop any TL will get killed. If you can run a 30 punch, you might be able to hang. The TL is also 250 lbs heavier, which is also going to hold you back.

So, a Type S with a Z is not really a race, I am guessing that the TL-P and the V6 would not be much of one either.

With that same logic, the 160 HP and 200 lb/ft of the V6 Camaro vs the 225 HP and 216 lb/ft of the TL-P might be a good race, the TL is still over 200lbs heavier. I say hit the drag strip and let us know how it goes, it should be a tight one.

It will be a driver's race for sure!

my first car was a '95 (base) camaro and all i did was put a magnaflow dual exhaust on it...yeah i felt it take off a little faster, but mostly it just sounded better...people mistook it for a Z28 all the time...

anyways, i didn't beat many cars with it (that are noteworthy)...i remember getting my ass handed to me by a stock prelude (the first year their most recent design came out)...bottom line, you definitely should be able to take him...he might get the jump, but they don't pick up speed too fast...i would literally yell at my camaro to get going most of the time...

Like I was saying, I bet that camaro cant handle an endurance race at 140mph

You'll beat him... I have a friend that has a 95 v6 Camaro with some sort of exhaust also manual. Him and I were messing around after work and we both gunned our cars, took him about half a car length. Think we tooked it up to 60 then we stopped...lol Be safe out there...

yup 4 cyl... The interesting thing is that there is a guy in england which drops the K20 into the lotus. It sounds amazing and is fast as hell when he is done with it... Look it up on youtube

Sorry for the hijack....
