Is Acura using REAL xenon HID's?
I've compared the lighting systems of a few different cars and noticed that the TL's HID system is not as white as some other vehicle's such as BMW's and Audi's. Are they using some kind of different bulb or something? In the daytime the TL's hid appears sort of greenish, which meant it has a lower color temperature on the Kelvin scale. While my buddy's BMW 540i appears purpleish-white even in daylight? Can someone explain this to me? It makes me wonder if they're really using xenon gas.

I've wondered why the Acura HIDs look different, too. Maybe it's because of the diffuser - perhaps it spreads the spectrum to where the light looks more white as opposed to blue / purple? None of the other manufacturers seem to use a diffuser.
Maybe we could ask vDO if his look different, because he's removed his diffusers.

Loving my 08 TLS!
I believe the difference is because the Audis and Beemers they have projectors with xenon lights and gives a different spectrum of hyperwhite/blue color.

It's the optics. the bulbs/color temp is most likely the same or very close to the same (probably has to do w/ specific frequency of xenon). the optics in the housing make it different. audi has projectors, bmw has something like projectors too. the TL has a refractor (2nd gen) and reflector in the new TL's. its the same as when you see hid kits on accords and civics.. it never looks right cause the optics were designed to focus a halogen light source

I noticed that the xenon lights on my car look much brighter (and like the audi and BMW lights) only from certain angles. Look at your lights from a far distance with your eye level at that of the headlights. Its super bright.
