Wonder if They'll have a 6-speed Auto-ss version??
Did they mention anything on the HP gain??
The CL-S is also gonna get the manual tranny too.

What have I been sayin about Honduh??? That's right, they come out with something and then come out with something again too soon to piss the people who just purchased their cars.

I see the advantage of a stick for fun of driving and for racing. But if you live in an area with triffic like a mofo, it isn't fun anymore. I hate driving a stick in traffic.

One sentence in auto week is hardly a confirmation.

So you would rather that they did NOT come out with improvements every year...at least until you are ready to upgrade? I think I'd rather they keep upgrading the car. At least they are staying in the game. Besides, they want us to upgrade...you do realize thats how they make money right

I'm looking forward to this, but I dont think I'll be able to justify two 6-speed manuals when the wife cant drive stick.

I like the fact that they do come out with new things. Improvements, cool. This wasn't as bad as how the did the 02 release. TL-S now. Then Fall - 6 speed manual. Not that much of a change. But from 01 TL-P to 02 TL-S... thats really a difference.

I'll upgrade alright, but Honduh won't be getting my money when I do. GS450 Here I come!!

When I got my 99 TL in June 1999 I was pissed when the 2000s came out with the 5 speed auto. I have been very happy with my car and I can't wait to until my lease comes due in Sept 2002. I want to get a TL Type S with the 6 speed manual. I'm sure that as soon as I get it, Acura will come out with something faster and better!

That sounds like when I bought my 2000 TL. When I found out that they were coming out with a 260 hp TL-S, I was pissed. And when I bought my computer, I was pissed too. A couple of weeks after I bought my top of the line 550mhz desktop, they came out with faster models. That just pisses me off.

JOIN THE CLUB! 2 MAJOR CHANGES in 2000!

99TL owner here that still couldn't understand why Acura didn't put side air bags into the 99TL model line when everyone else out there was doing it.

Sucked also about the 5 speed SS change in 2000? It's like Acura just didn't finish or forgot to.

I don't see how you can go wrong with a TL Type S, but when your lease is up in 2002, there will be plenty of other cars to choose from too, so keep your mind open.

That's why I leased my TL and also lease my computer! Isn't great that they keep getting better.

So 2000 owners should be very happy that there was barely any change in 2001?
Maybe Acura should make changes every other year?
Personally, I'd rather see Acura make a few changes every year. Completely restyling the car might be bad, but anything else is good.
TL-S, 6 speed, AWD.....they can come year after year. I paid for my car at the time I need this car. I already got my money worth even if a better version comes out in 6 months.
If you don't like being obsolete after 6-12 months, you may want to consider something that costs less.
Personally, I never buy the fastest chip in the market. I always buy the chip that costs about $100-$150. Currently, that happens to be Athlon 1.2. I might even be able to get a 1.3 for $150. Would I care if Athlon 1.5 comes out in 2 months? No, because it will cost over 700 bucks each.
By the time Athlon 1.5 gets down to $150, I already have more than my share of fun with $150 Athlon 1.2.
