Acura Quality Going Down

Acura Quality Going Down
First off I've had my TL for about 2 months now and for the most part its a decent upgrade from my 97 Maxima GLE. However, couple of things that I must point out that makes me wonder WTF Acura is doing when it comes to building these cars.
1. I found a couple of screws in misc places especially under the seats and even one in the ashtray.
2. The brake light bulbs weren't even connected. I probably wouldn't have noticed until someone actually pointed out that my rear brake light didn't come on when I stopped.
3. Squeaks everywhere.
All in all the TL is a badass ride but all these little things make me wonder what kind of sh!t those workers are smoking when they build those vehicle.

my moonroof rattled and my rear seats squeaked for some reason, my acura dealer promptly took care of those issues though as soon as i pointed them out. no loose screws however...i hope...

Welcome to the world of Acura quality. It is so amusing how people are willing to accept all these quality problems because they got such a great deal for 30K. I have a 02 TL-S, lots of nagging problems. The only thing I can see as an asset to this vehicle over an Accord is the engine is sweet. I've had the moonroof rattles fixed twice and it needs it again. I've given up on all the other problems. J.D. Powers did not monitor my Acura!

I have a Canadian 2002 model. Have had it since March 2002. No touble, no problems, transmission is fine. Rotors not warped. Moon roof squeeks but putting a bit of silicone on the rubber every six months fixes that. I have no complaints.

Had my 2002 TL since late 2001 and have had no problem whatsoever. The only squeak comes from the armrest when it is extended out and when I hit on rough road service. Otherwise, everything is tight and quiet. Put 41,000 miles on it already.

I've had my TL-S since March '01 ....
squeaks, rattles galore...
but y'know what?? It's faster than it was brand new .. just by being broken in at 30K miles... it sounds awesome at VTEC, and my first major mods (headers + icebox) are going in on Saturday of next week...
I'm loving this car more than I did brand new, and it's FAR from the highest quality vehicle I've ever been in...

Exactly my feeling, although I only have 20k on mine.

sqeaks and rattles and transmission is a major turn off.
Quality indeed went down compared to Acura Legend.... that was something amazing, probably the best car ever made... its still on the road running strong.

I agree--I am not impressed by Acura quality. My 2003 TL-S squeaks and rattles more than any other car I've owned (and I've owned quite a few.) I have all but given up on ever having this corrected, as the dealership either can't hear or can't duplicate them. It is very annoying.
That, and having had my transmission replaced at 23,000 miles, really makes me doubt that I will be driving another Acura after this.
Too bad; the car has a lot of positive qualities. But the overall quality stinks.

More and more every day...
Mine WDP/Ebony has 49,000 on it now. As I sit here, I'm waiting for my new Yokohama AVS ES100's. They will replace the stock Michelins, even though there are probably 10k miles left on them. That and new H&R Sport springs, and I can't wait. I'm on my second transmission, and have gone through some dissapointment with the fit and finish on this car (especially the soft, thin paint). They replaced my rotors and pads at 31,500 under warranty, no problem. I have to say that, the more I drive it, the more I like it.
