Acura Hid Street Lights 1999-2001

Ok Jens from Park ave acura told me that our acura Cars Have a Sheild on the headlights that minmize The High Intensity Discharge From the light Bulb so the light can become StreetLegal and wont be that bright.. Check out the Problem i installed Hid fog lights and they are brighter than my original head light lamp

It makes my Head lights look Yellow. Now i want to know can you take off the protective sheild on the Headlight? if so can somebody tell me how to do it.. yeah yeah i know it wont be streetlegal but Who cares. i know what i am getting into.
Sorry for the long post

Danny

that's a good idea, but you're gonna have a lot of pissed off people on the road. maybe cause an accident...just something else to think about before you do it.

I recall someone removing the difusor and they couldn't see at all because that difusor is responsible for directing the light to some degree.... Do a search, you'll find the info.

DniCeE TL, I am about to get those Sylvania HID foglights. Are they the brand new Xenarc ones? Can you post pics? Are they bright? Do they work well? To answer your question, you will probably screw up your beam pattern if you take out the sheild. I bet it might have something to do with the beam pattern. Thanks. P.S. Please post pics.

Its a focusing lense, not a diffuser.

Danny,
Don't take the diffuser or whatever you call it out because I believed Vdo (I hope I'm right) was the one that took it out of his TL and the beam pattern looked like ****. He even told everybody not to do it because you can't see anything with it out.
Since you said that your new HID fogs are brighter than the TL's HID then just leave it alone.
BTW, hopefully I will be getting mine soon too.

The Xenarc HID Fogs by Sylvania burn at a higher color temperature than our lowbeams. They'll be a slightly different color and possibly brighter. I would just go the easy way and get PIAA 9006s.
