Post Acura 2003 TL S Center Console Question

Hello All,

So far I have 125K miles on my TL and it is still running pretty well. I had to take it in to the dealer as the VSA light came on... sigh... $700 later...

Anway, the inside of my car is tan\beige and I want to see what it would cost to replace the cushion on the center console. I am not sure what this part is called but it is where your rest elbow would rest if you are the driver. Anyone know what the official name of this cushion\arm rest is and where I could get a new one? I took a look at eBay and there were some similar parts but not an exact match.

Thanks, Bill

ya know i had the same problem on my 99 TL---tan interior
i know its suppose to be a cushion--but mine was hard as a rock--i have no idea how it got like that

so i went to a junk yard and found 2 of them--a black and a tan arm rest---AND I GOT BOTH OF THEM FOR FREE
and they were in perfect condition

sooo i have a spare for later down the road

soooo honestley go ckeck a junk yard---you'll most definetley find one there

There is a mechanical junction box where the ABS and other components meet. I am not that mechanical so sorry for the poor explaination. I understand what ABS is and how the VSA works, ie vehicle stability assist so it helps with driving. Anway, the part was $450 for a re-manufactured part. A new one was $2k so I got easy. Labor was about $300.

Interesting idea on the re-upholstering. Would such a shop re-upholster leather? Would I just search the yellow pages for upholstering shops?

Here's a new black leather armrest cover on eBay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT
I emailed the seller, and they are only selling the cover, not the armrest itself. You have to remove the old one and then attach the new one with glue around the edges, I guess.

03 acura TL center armrest removal

In my haste, i removed the armrest w/o pics. I bought the new leather piece on ebay (about $20), as described above and glued it on with contact cement, worked great, however, I cannot figure how to put it all back together. All the utube videos are for gen3-4, mine is gen2 and quite different. Can anybody help?

It's been a long while since I did mine, but I remember there being plastic tabs that had to be popped in place in the right order, and some bolts you could only get to with the whole cushion "extended" on the sliding rails.
