Accord calipers the same as TL
Was wondering if the 98-02 v6 accord calipers/mounting brackets are the same as our gen2 tl's. Reason being is one of my threads on my caliper mounting braket was stripped when i took the suspension appart dont know how it held.

From what I remember being told by the acura parts guy they dont sell them separate. have to buy the complete caliper and caliper braket. It may have changed.
For some reason I always thought the tl discs are larger resulting in different brakets. Since If i remember the accord has either 11.1 inch or 11.3 and are the tl's not just under 12inch I maybe be wrong tho.

you can buy things as small as bolts on certain parts. i'd double check with that guy

The caliper braket is not available by it self from Acura, parts guy is right. Used or order a loaded caliper from Centric it comes with the bracket.
OR you could pick up Legend calipers with brackets and TL calipers with brackets, then return the TL calipers with the Legend brackets and install the 2 piston Legend calipers with the TL brackets. Just a thought.......

legend calipers are very easy to get!
these raybestos numbers will cross to your choice of brands
FRC10627 and FRC10628 thats l and r calipers with brackets- you remove the new bolts and metal sliders off the legend brackets and use them- toss the bracket itself back in the box
80 bucks each rebuilt at most parts stores (check online for best deals and store will match)
Parts store is happy to get the TL caliper back as a core- they consider it more sellable~
The legend brackets do NOT fit the TL- just the calipers from it
Acura does not sell the bracket alone-
bolts are a different thing~

Hey 04tl4tl....I'm just going to slap my set of 2 piston calipers on my type s and I'm just wondering....do the calipers bolt onto the TL's caliper brackets without modification?

These are Beck/Arnley calipers (that's what it says on the box) and I'm not sure what difference the pistonss are....so I'd like to keep them mounted on correct side...I'll just have to bleed them w/ the calipers dismounted w/ a piece of wood between the pads.....

The pistons are different diameters. No problems mounting the one marked 'L' on right side & vice versa. Puts bleeder in proper place. That's how they should be done. I've done it as well as numerous people on this board.
