Probably better off if insurance claims totalled! That looks pretty painful.

Most likely the guy is self insured.

Given how expensive it would be to replace that car, I imagine the F40 will not be totaled.

Even worse, most states have a state-mandated minimum liability for insurance coverage, and many people do not buy extra coverage. Here in texas, I believe property liability (paying for someone's car or house you hit, for example) is a minimum of $50,000. So, if the damage on the F40 is higher than the at-fault driver's coverage, then the F40 guy will have to sue the other driver for the difference. That could take a while, and might never get paid off, say if the at-fault driver files for bankruptcy.

For this very same reason, I have more than the minimum coverage on my car. I have like over $100,000 property, for example, so that my insurance would pay for me totaling expensive car(s). It only costs like $50 more each 6 months, it's worth it. same thing for bodily injury, I bought more. You guys might want to look into this w/ your insurance agent also, to help avoid financial disaster if you hit, say, a Ferrari F40!!!

How much you want to bet the guy driving the F-40 was at fault for driving like an asshole?
